If You're Dippin', you are listening in on a private conversation. Well, Dip no further, as we have made our musical conversation public for your listening and dancing pleasure! This recording, the third and final one to come out of our our naturalistic recording sessions, shows our Latin jazz, funky blues, and gospel styles, both in the compositions of Michael BB, and the playing of the band. Greg Marsh has played in every style that uses the drumset, and his experience shows here, with half-time shuffles, blues in 7/4, Latin jazz, and a popping snare and bass drum. Eric Koppa gets his honk on, takes a few longer flights into the deeper waters of the blues, and blows some fastidious and trenchantly lyrical lines in the Latin numbers. Bassist John Christensen keeps the floor nailed down, and solos up high. Just what the Doctor ordered. Pianist/composer/producer Michael BB uses all the chops, licks, and flavors he can throw at the music, to create backgrounds and solos that make these pieces come alive and stay fresh after repeated listenings, while adding a pop/rock sensibility to the jazz-ness!
