More Info:

Double CD re-issue on JIM O'ROURKE's Moikai label for "lost" free jazz album from British guitarist who in the English free jazz improvisation scene of the late 60's & early 70's was reputed to be the first guitarist to have a pedal set up & was responsible for the guitar freak out on the James Bond "Dr. No" soundtrack! For a period in the early 70's he made records of rock & free jazz energy. His sound is recognizably jazz, the rhythm section, the horns & group improvisation but even after all this time it's still a shock when he hits the strings! Explosive, sharp angular bursts of "skree" guitar rather like a Pollack painting fitted with guitar pickups! Like contemporaries Sonny Sharrock & Terje Rypdal he makes it sound as if the guitar is not enough, as if he's reaching for something wilder.. something that can't be contained within the 6 string cage! Features the original artwork with additional liner notes from Alan Licht & Ray Russell himself.. Check out recent RCA reissues also.
