Unlike most of his neo-soul contemporaries, theres not much downhome about this urbane Atlantan. Hes plenty cerebral for a heavy-breather, not overly indebted to either Marvin or Stevie and familiar with rock guitarists who arent Prince or Jimi. And for his second album, he teamed up with Shelby Lynne producer Bill Bottrell.
