Reviews:

''23'' is the seventh studio album by Blonde Redhead, released on . It debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at number 63, selling roughly 11,000 copies in its first week. - Wikipedia

Is it a coincidence that Blonde Redhead's 23 comes shortly after that Jim Carrey movie about how coincidences involving the number 23 aren't coincidences? I mean, think about it. If the movie hadn't tanked, Blonde Redhead could have totally cashed in on the soundtrack, too. Two albums in on 4AD, home to all things dreamy and gauzy, the Brooklyn trio has staked out a spot as the label's token sorta-noise rock band'"through all the dreamy gauze, BR do have ties to Sonic Youth and Fugazi (Guy Picciotto, who produced their last couple, sat this one out while the band self-produced), and vocalist Kazu Makino sang on TV on the Radio's new one. 23 kicks off with the mystical-Illuminati-numbered title track and features 10 cuts of the quietly jagged, creepily sexy jangle they've been perfecting since 1995.
